Opportunity

Amazon is a powerhouse in e-commerce, offering a vast array of features and services. However, the sheer breadth of options may potentially overwhelm or be hidden to new users. I took on the challenge of redesigning the app to create a more seamless and enjoyable experience. During the process, I identified several opportunities to improve the user experience, from more effective targeting of customer needs to better organizing subscriptions for users with larger monthly purchases.

Modernized Home Screen

The home screen received a face lift in order to provide the user with clear recommendations and quick scroll to categories. 

Product Details

The goal was to allow the user to quickly scan information with scroll to labels as well as provide visibility to the share and add to wishlist features in order build retention and increase revenue

Improved Rating System

Users will receive reminders to review their purchased products in order to build a more trustworthy shopping experience among buyers

Add a Buddy

Add any of your household members to receive even more discounts and keep track of all your monthly subscriptions to avoid purchasing duplicate items.

Subscribe and Save

Exploring sharing capabilities and add a buddy features brings more enfaces on savings while increasing revenue for Amazon as more individuals will buddy up and order in bulk under one address thus saving Amazon and the user on shipping costs.

Outcome

This project offered valuable insights into both opportunities for improvement and design flaws. As the concept took shape, I identified key areas where the design could be enhanced, such as addressing accessibility concerns, reducing text-heavy elements on buttons, and improving intuitiveness in certain interactions. These explorations are incredibly valuable, not only for validating potential solutions but also for staying aligned with best practices and current trends. They offer an ongoing opportunity to refine design skills, sharpen creative thinking, and ensure the final product remains user-centric and effective.
